KitsWater Recovery

KIT 02 · WATER FOUNDATION

Recover useful water.
Filter before you trust.

A practical starting point for collecting rainwater, recovering selected non-potable flows and making water use visible. Define the source and the use first, then add treatment, storage or automation when the next layer earns its place.

This page is a buying framework, not a pre-assembled product or a promise of stock. Component links may be affiliate links; the merchant, price, shipping and warranty are shown by the merchant at checkout. Untreated recovered water is not drinking water.

THE SECOND USEFUL LAYER

A small water loop with a defined job.

The first objective is not to build a full treatment plant. It is to identify a safe non-potable use, capture or recover a known source, measure the flow and make the next investment with evidence instead of guesswork.

Water recovery kit components and a sustainable water loop

What this starter layer is designed to do

  • 01Capture rainwater or another clearly identified non-potable source.
  • 02Route water through appropriate screening, pre-filtration and overflow protection.
  • 03Measure volume, pressure and basic conditions before selecting a pump or treatment layer.
  • 04Create a documented baseline that can connect to irrigation, storage and monitoring later.

This is intentionally modular. Never use untreated recovered water for drinking, cooking, bathing or other human-contact uses. Potable treatment requires appropriate testing, certified equipment and compliance with local rules.

COMPONENT FRAMEWORK

Three building blocks. One controlled water test.

Choose compatible products from a reputable merchant. The links below open partner searches rather than a specific SKU, so you can compare current Canadian availability, material compatibility, specifications and total cost before purchasing.

Capture and store

Screened rainwater storage barrel

A covered, stable storage layer for a defined non-potable use. Confirm material, lid, screened inlet, overflow route, drain height and local winterization requirements.

Protect the loop

Inline sediment pre-filter housing

A first barrier for visible particles before storage or controlled use. Confirm micron rating, flow direction, replacement availability, pressure limit and clean-out method.

Move and measure

12 V transfer pump with flow meter

A controlled way to move water while recording a useful baseline. Verify head height, flow rate, duty cycle, hose size, current draw and dry-run protection before connecting it.

COMPATIBILITY AND SAFETY

The kit is useful because the water boundary is clear.

A recovery loop can be valuable without pretending to be a municipal treatment plant. Keep the first test non-potable and controlled; have a qualified professional review any permanent connection to a building, drain or potable supply.

Good first fit

Irrigation and controlled non-potable use

Garden watering, approved cleaning tasks and documented flow experiments are appropriate starting points.

Verify before use

Source, materials and pressure

Check source quality, container materials, tubing, pressure, overflow, backflow prevention and freezing conditions.

Professional scope

Potable water and building plumbing

Drinking-water treatment, greywater connections, sewer interfaces and code compliance require qualified review in the applicable jurisdiction.

UPGRADE PATH

Start with a safe use. Document the result. Expand with purpose.

Map the source and use

Record where the water comes from, how much is available, where it will go and what contact the use involves.

Add treatment

Use the baseline to choose sediment, carbon, UV or another treatment layer only when the target use and test requirements are clear.

Connect the next system

Only after the first layer is understood should you consider larger storage, sensors, automation or building integration.

INSTALLATION AND ADVICE

Want help choosing and installing the first water layer?

Tell us the location, the water source, the intended use and the level of help you need. We can review the starting point and identify the next practical step.

This is a project request, not a checkout and not a promise of availability. No payment is requested through this form.

  • 01Describe the space, source and problem you want to solve.
  • 02Share the intended use, distance, height or flow goal if known.
  • 03Receive next steps before any installation commitment.

We will reply with next steps. This form does not collect payment.
